Smartphone Controlled Arduino-4WD Robot Car via Bluetooth

  • 4 Wheel Drive Arduino Smart Robot controlled via Bluetooth

Components: 4wd smart car robot learning starter kit for Arduino - Programmable Robot DIY - $ 49.99 (note: you can buy yours somewhere else ! Just check it has the components you need for this project :)

Assembly Instructions: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/build-4wd-arduino-robot-beginners/

I remixed my old project with this one http://www.instructables.com/id/Course-on-MIT-App-Inventor-and-Arduino/   by Magesh Jayakumar  in order to add the bluetooth functionality. I replaced the ultrasonic sensor by a bluetooth sensor. I connected:
RTX to ping 13 in the Arduino
TXD to ping 12 in the Arduino
GCC to ground
VCC to 5V
note: the rest stayed same.

I bought the Wireless RF Transceiver Bluetooth Module HC-05 Master and Slave mode for Arduino here  (cost $ 6.75):(note: you can buy yours somewhere else ! Just make sure it matches the one used  or its functionalities:) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-RF-Transceiver-Bluetooth-Module-HC-05-Master-and-Slave-mode-for-Arduino/322306221753?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

NOTE: Anyone installing your app (which is an ".apk" file) will need to change the setting on their phone to allow installation of non-market applications:
To find this setting on versions of Android prior to 4.0, go to "Settings > Applications" and then check the box next to "Unknown Sources". For devices running Android 4.0 or above, go to "Settings > Security" or "Settings > Security & Screen Lock" and then check the box next to "Unknown Sources" and confirm your choice.
